Masaharu Somiya is an Associate Professor at IMRAM, Tohoku University. He is interested in computational protein design, protein editing, drug delivery using bio-inspired nanomaterials (viruses, VLPs, and extracellular vesicles). Ex-visiting scholar at Neil King’s laboratory at Institute for Protein Design, University of Washington, Seattle, to study protein design for drug delivery (2022-2024).

Our preprint has been finally published in Journal of Extracellular Vesicles! We describe a novel membrane fusion assay to measure the intracellular membrane fusion of extracellular vesicles mediated by virus-derived fusion protein VSV-G.
